Monterey Chicken

Marinate Ingredients :

  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire’s sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp minced garlic or 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken (I use thinly sliced chicken breasts)
  • 8 slices of hormel precooked black label bacon ( I get it at Sam’s club. It’s 4 slices for 2 Freestyle smart points)
  • 4 Tbsp sugar free bbq sauce (I use G. Hughes Sugar Free BBQ Sauce)
  • 2 oz light 3 blend cheese ( I use Trader Joe’s lite 3 cheese blend)
  • 4 green onions (sliced and diced for garnish) and diced tomatoes if you choose.

  1. In a zip lock bag combine all marinate ingredients and chicken breasts. Close bag and flip around until all ingredients are incorporated. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
  2. Preheat lightly greased cast iron grill or outdoor grill to medium heat.
  3. Place chicken breasts on grill and cook until chicken is no longer translucent in the middle.
  4. After the chicken is finished cooking, transfer the chicken breasts to baking sheet covered in parchment paper or foil. Be sure to spray foil with non stick cooking spray.
  5. Spread 1 Tbsp of sauce free barbecue sauce over each chicken breast. Top each chicken breast with 2 slices of bacon and and a 1/2 oz of the light cheese. Place the baking sheet in an oven and set oven to 350 degrees and cook until cheese is melted.
  6. Remove from oven and garnish with green onions.

Servings: Makes 4 servings/ 4 Freestyle smart points per serving.

  1. I made this today and it was the most delicious! Question: I use the mobile app to track points and I’m stumped as to how to add your recipes to the recipes provided on the app. Is there a way to connect them to the app? Ive been entering them under recipes with names like Pounddropper’s Monterey Chicken and then listing all the ingredients.
I have your recipe book on my IPad now too. Thank you for writing it!! Such a joy cooking with tour recipes.

    1. Hi Anna,
Thank you for your comment! I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying my recipes.

I have created all of my recipes in the ww app. To be honest, I’m not sure if it’s made public once I add a recipe. This one is under Pound Dropper’s Monterey Chicken. If you do a search for maybe you can see if you’re able to view it. I’ll have to check with ww tech team to see how to make a recipe public. Let me know if you’re able to do a search for it.
      Thanks so much!

  2. Thank you so much for taking the time to write out and calculate these recipes. I’ve pinned several and also receive emails from you.
